Introduction

Widows Meal Foundation is a faith-based nonprofit organization established on October 31, 2020 by Min. Emmanuel N Osadebay Jr, with a heartfelt mission to serve and uplift widows in the Clara Town and Lakpa zee communities of Liberia. Guided by Christian principles and a passion for compassion, the Foundation focuses on providing nutritious meals, spiritual support, and holistic care to some of the most vulnerable members of these communities. This document outlines the fundamental elements of the Widows Meal Foundation – its Mission, Vision, Core Values, Pillars, and Organizational Structure – reflecting an unwavering commitment to service, faith, and global standards of excellence.

Our Mission Statement

Empowering Widows, Transforming Lives Together

Our mission is to demonstrate God’s love by nourishing both the body and spirit of widows in need. We provide regular meals, emotional support, and spiritual encouragement to widows in Clara Town and Lakpazee. By addressing immediate needs and fostering hope through faith-based community care, the Widows Meal Foundation seeks to ensure that no widow in our reach goes hungry, feels abandoned, or lacks the comfort of a caring community.

Our vision

Inspire growth and Establish Community.

Our vision is to see every widow in the communities we serve living a life of dignity, hope, and fulfillment. We envision a future where widows in Clara Town, Lakpazee, and beyond are nourished in body and spirit, uplifted by a supportive community, and empowered to thrive despite life’s challenges. The Widows Meal Foundation strives to cultivate a model community in Liberia where the elderly and widowed are cherished, self-sufficient, and integral members of society, their contributions valued and their needs met by compassionate neighbors acting in faith and unity.

Our Core Values

Our Core Values are the guiding principles that define the culture and standards of the Widows Meal Foundation. We hold ourselves accountable to these values in every decision, program, and interaction, ensuring our work remains true to our faith-based mission and worthy of the trust of those we serve and those who support us. Our core values include:

FAITH & DEPENDENCE ON GOD

We are anchored in Christian faith, prayerfully seeking God’s guidance in all we do. Our work is founded on the belief that caring for widows fulfills a divine calling (James 1:27) and that through God’s provision, we can bring hope and healing to those in need. We depend on His grace for direction, strength, and purpose.

COMPASSION & LOVE

We show Christ-like compassion to every widow we encounter. Empathy, kindness, and unconditional love guide our service. We strive to ease the burdens of widows by listening to their needs and responding with genuine care and mercy. Every meal and visit is delivered with a smile, warmth, and respect for each woman’s story.

RESPECT & DIGNITY

We believe every widow deserves to be treated with utmost respect and honor. The Widows Meal Foundation is committed to upholding the dignity of those we serve, recognizing their worth as individuals made in the image of God. We listen to them, value their experiences, and ensure our assistance strengthens rather than diminishes their sense of self-worth.

INTEGRITY & ACCOUNTABILITY

Trustworthiness is central to our ministry. We manage all resources—food supplies, donations, and time—with transparency and stewardship. Upholding the highest ethical standards, we remain accountable to our beneficiaries, donors, and community leaders. Integrity means we do what we say, honor our commitments, and remain faithful stewards even when no one is watching.

COMMUNITY & COLLABORATION

We foster a spirit of community by working hand-in-hand with local churches, volunteers, and the widows’ own families and neighbors. We value partnerships and teamwork, understanding that our mission thrives when the whole community takes part. Through collaboration, we build a support network around each widow, creating an environment of belonging, shared faith, and mutual support.

EMPOWERMENT & HOPE

Beyond providing immediate relief, we aim to empower widows to improve their long-term well-being. We encourage personal growth, whether through skills training, small livelihood projects, or educational workshops, so that widows can gain confidence and self-reliance. By instilling hope and affirming that each widow still has a purpose and a future, we help transform lives from vulnerability to vitality.

We Touch Lives, We Reach Hearts.

Our Pillars

The Widows Meal Foundation’s work is built upon several key pillars that translate our mission and values into action. These pillars represent the main strategies and program areas through which we serve widows and uphold our faith-based commitment. Each pillar is crucial to achieving our mission and is pursued with professionalism and heartfelt dedication:

Spiritual Support & Guidance

“Faith in Action” is the cornerstone of our foundation. We provide spiritual care to the widows by praying with them, sharing encouraging Scripture, and offering fellowship through regular home visits and community gatherings. By tending to spiritual needs, we help widows draw strength from faith, find solace in God’s promises, and know that they are loved by Him and by their community. This pillar ensures that our outreach is not only physical but also nurtures the soul, aligning with our belief that true care is holistic.

Nutritional Assistance (Meals Program)

The heart of our work is the Widows’ Meal Program, which provides nutritious food to widows who might otherwise go hungry. We organize consistent meal distributions and food parcel deliveries in Clara Town and Lakpazee, focusing on those who are elderly, infirm, or without family support. Each meal is prepared and delivered with love, meeting immediate hunger needs and improving the health and well-being of the widows. Through this pillar, we address physical nourishment, ensuring that every widow in our care has access to daily sustenance and the comfort of a warm meal shared in love.

Emotional & Social Support

We recognize that widows often face loneliness, grief, and social isolation. To combat this, the Foundation creates supportive social spaces and activities. We host monthly “Widows’ Fellowship” gatherings, where widows come together for a shared meal, conversation, worship, and peer support. We also provide counseling or simply a listening ear through our volunteers and staff. By building friendships and community around widows, we help restore their sense of belonging and purpose. This pillar strengthens emotional health and creates a sisterhood of support among women who understand each other’s struggles and joys.

Empowerment & Capacity Building

While immediate aid is vital, we also strive to empower widows for the future. This pillar involves helping widows develop skills and access opportunities to improve their livelihoods. We organize basic skills-training workshops, such as tailoring, basket-weaving, or small trade management, in partnership with local experts and churches. We also explore micro-grants or vocational support for widows who are able to start small businesses or income-generating activities. By investing in their abilities and confidence, the Foundation helps widows regain economic independence and a sense of achievement. This empowerment-focused pillar enables a transition from reliance on aid to self-sufficiency where possible, thereby breaking cycles of poverty and dependence.

Community Outreach & Advocacy

The Widows Meal Foundation actively engages the broader community to raise awareness and advocate for the welfare of widows. We collaborate with community leaders, church congregations, and local authorities to ensure widows’ needs are recognized and addressed beyond our programs. This includes advocating for their inclusion in community events, connecting them with healthcare services, or assisting them in accessing any governmental support available. Through outreach, we encourage the next generation and the community at large to honor and care for widows. By being a voice for widows, we aim to influence positive societal attitudes and policies so that caring for widows becomes a shared responsibility rooted in local culture and faith.

These five pillars work in harmony to fulfill the Foundation’s purpose. From spiritual care to physical nourishment, from personal empowerment to community advocacy, each pillar reinforces the others. Together, they create a comprehensive approach to ministry that addresses the multifaceted needs of widows, ensuring our support is compassionate, relevant, and transformative.

Our team is working everyday to build a better world & help empower widows
